Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
MyMood is a private mood journal designed to work without an account or login. It has no server, so there is nowhere for your diary to go.
The short version. MyMood does not collect, transmit or sell your data. Everything you write stays in the app's private storage on your device, and you can erase all of it from Settings inside the app.
Data stored on your device
MyMood stores the mood notes, reminders, photos, journal text and app settings that you choose to add. This information is stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. There is no MyMood account, no server-side copy and no synchronisation service.
App Lock
If you enable App Lock, MyMood uses the device authentication already configured on your device, such as Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. MyMood does not receive or store your biometric information; iOS simply tells the app whether authentication succeeded.
Photos, microphone and speech recognition
MyMood only accesses photos that you explicitly select through Apple's system photo picker — it never browses your library. If you use audio dictation, MyMood requests microphone and speech-recognition permission to turn your speech into text. MyMood stores the resulting text in your entry and does not save audio recordings.
Permission choices
You can change access to microphone and speech recognition at any time in the iOS Settings app. Photo access is limited to the images you choose through Apple's system photo picker.
Analytics and advertising
MyMood does not include advertising, third-party analytics or behavioural tracking. No advertising identifier is read and no data is used to track you across apps or websites.
Purchases
MyMood Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Payment, billing and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple. MyMood receives only the entitlement information it needs to know whether Pro is active on the device; it never sees your payment details or your Apple Account credentials. See the Terms of Use for the subscription terms.
Deleting your data
You can delete your diary data from Settings inside the app. Removing the app from your device may also delete locally stored data. Because MyMood does not use an account or server storage, we cannot access or delete your local diary data remotely — and, for the same reason, we cannot recover it for you if you delete it.
Children
MyMood is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app collects nothing at all, no personal data of any user, of any age, reaches us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes on the App Store.
