Getting started

Writing your first entry

Tap the + button at the bottom of the diary and choose New Entry. Pick how the day felt, give it a title if you want one, and write. Everything else — the date, the colour, where it lands in the calendar — is filled in for you.

Setting a reminder

The same + button offers Reminder. Opened from the diary it uses the current time; opened from a day in the calendar it uses that day. Free accounts can keep three reminders at a time, and deleting one frees its slot.

Changing how your diary looks

Go to Settings → Diary Style. There you choose the cover, the paper, the ruling and an ornament, and you can also decide what happens when the app opens: the full animated cover, a shortened version, or straight into the diary. Changes to the opening cover take effect the next time you launch the app.

Locking the app

Settings → App Lock turns on Face ID, Touch ID or passcode protection. It's free, and it applies every time the app comes back from the background.

MyMood Pro

What Pro unlocks

Voice notes with dictation, a photo on every note instead of the first ten, unlimited reminders, all-time insights with the weekly rhythm card, and every cover, paper, ornament and ruling. See the full comparison on the home page.

Restoring a purchase

Open the MyMood Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. Restoring brings back the subscription — it does not bring back your diary, which lives in your device backup.

Cancelling

Go to iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or tap Manage Subscription inside MyMood. Cancelling stops the renewal and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

“Plans are unavailable right now”

That message means the App Store couldn't return the products — usually a temporary network problem or a Sandbox account issue. Check your connection and tap retry; if it persists for more than a day, email me.

Your diary and your data

Backing it up

MyMood has no cloud, so your diary is included in your iPhone or iCloud device backup and nowhere else. If you're changing phones, restore the new one from a backup of the old one before you reinstall MyMood.

Deleting everything

There's an option in Settings that erases your whole diary from the device. It is immediate and final — there is no server copy for us to restore from.

Microphone or photo permission got stuck

Open iOS Settings → MyMood and check Microphone, Speech Recognition and Photos. Toggling a permission off and on again resolves most cases where a picker or dictation stops responding.

Requirements

If you're having a hard time. MyMood is a journal, not a health service, and it can't help in a crisis. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or your local emergency number — in the European Union, 112.
